Light of the World

This is a painting that I have wanted to do for several years, and is inspired by 'The Turin Shroud'. I have always been of the opinion that the representation of Christ in many paintings has always erred towards the 'European look', and I therefore felt I would like to make him look more Jewish/Middle Eastern. For this painting I used the glazes and Verdaccio as used by the Renaissance painters. I have also used non-toxic medium and brush cleaner this time; a great boon in a home studio.
